Carol Nicholls
Practice Manager
HND GIBiol NEBOSH Dip EYFS NVQ3 Cert Ed PTLSPractice manager, Miss Fixit, head decorator and first aid trainer. Before being one of the founding members in 2006, Carol served for 15 years as a manager in the pharmaceutical industry, followed by 5 years as a childminder and first aid trainer whilst bringing up her 3 children. When she’s not busy running the practice, Carol likes to visit various coasts to watch the tide roll in and recruit new people to visit the RHS Bridgewater Gardens with.Ask her for days out recommendations as she’s been almost everywhere!

Hannah Cronin
Clinical Director
BVSc MRCVSHannah graduated from Liverpool University in 2012 and joined Southfields in 2017 following her long history with the practice, having regularly visited for work experience since the age of 13! In her spare time, Hannah enjoys nothing more than spending time with her family; her daughter Poppy was born last year and keeps her and her husband both busy and very entertained! She loves animals… naturally!

Daniel Alcazar
Veterinary Surgeon
MRCVS, Lic vetmedDaniel graduated in 1993 from the Complutense University in Madrid. He has been working in different small practices all over England before joining the Southfields team in July 2019. He is married and has two young children that keep him very busy when not in work! Daniel enjoys baking, badminton and mountain biking in his spare time. He has 2 cats; Mittens, the 3 legged black cat and Dorito, the cuddly ginger boy.

Jack Mills
Veterinary Surgeon
Jack graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2024. Previously, he had been coming to Southfields for years during his studies to gain experience in practice. He is passionate about many areas of veterinary medicine and particularly enjoys developing his skills in dealing with emergency cases, as well as in surgery and exotic species. In his free time, Jack likes to go to the gym, the cinema, and spend time outdoors in nature.

Jackson Denton
Veterinary Nurse
RVNJackson has been working at Southfields since September 2016 as a work experience student and receptionist. He started at Myerscough College September 2018 on a veterinary nursing course and qualified in October 2021. When he is not in practice, Jackson likes to spend time with his cat, Snippy and rabbit, Simba. He also likes to build his experience with other animals and works at an exotic animal education centre where he both handles and trains a range of animals including: birds of prey, continental giant rabbits, ferrets, tarantulas and snakes.

Mandy Morriss
Animal Nursing Assistant
ANAMandy joined the reception team in September 2018 and has since progressed to become our ANA. Next year she hopes to start her training to become an RVN. In her spare time, Mandy enjoys competing at advanced level endurance competitions all over the country with her two Arabian horses, Ali and Amir. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, walking her Romanian rescue dog Harry and socialising with her friends.

Rachel Woodcock
Registered Veterinary Nurse
RVN CertVNES, CertVNECC, CFVNHNut, ISFMDipFNRachel qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2012 and has worked in practices both during the day and at night. In 2020 Rachel took a break from nursing and joined Southfields working as Senior Receptionist. Since 2024 Rachel has returned to our nursing team and has a particular interest in anaesthesia. Rachel also processes the pet insurance claims for the practice. At home Rachel lives with her husband and 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 rabbits, and 11 fish. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys walking her dogs and has recently started doing Parkruns with her lurcher, doing jigsaws, watching television and is rapidly progressing with horse riding lessons.

Emma Nicholls
Receptionist
Emma joined the Southfields reception team in April 2021. Having studied predominantly science at Xaverian College, she hopes to shortly return to education with a biomedical science degree and specialise in pharmaceuticals. Coming from an overly competitive family, she likes to constantly try her hand at new skills whether it be learning languages, musical instruments or baking techniques. Emma is a self proclaimed pastry snob, but far less picky when it comes to beer.
